SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Estelle Elizabeth "Peachie" Bowen of
Norton Shores, Michigan, formerly of Elmhurst, who passed away
on April 30, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was born on December 9, 1925, in
Chicago; her parents were Paul and Anne Roberts; she married
Joseph F. Bowen on March 17, 1948; and
WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven
in Elmhurst, where she was a daily communicant; she also
belonged to various prayer groups, investments clubs, and a
network of girlfriends, affectionately known as "The Club",
which met every month; and
WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen was preceded in death by her son,
John Joseph Bowen; her sister, Pat Dowling; and her brothers,
Bill and Paul Roberts; and
WHEREAS, Estelle Bowen is survived by her husband; her
children, JoAnne (Mark) Duffy, Denise (Ralph) Ryan, William
(Cheryl) Bowen, and Martin Bowen; her 17 grandchildren; her 14
great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Patricia) Nelson; and
her sister, Maureen (Jerry) Lambeth; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
her family and friends, the passing of Estelle Elizabeth
"Peachie" Bowen; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Estelle Bowen as an expression of
our sympathy.
