| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on March 13, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was born in South Wilmington to | ||||||
| 6 | Joseph John and Catherine (Gorman) O'Reilly on December 1, | ||||||
| 7 | 1925; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Betty McShane's love of math helped her start her | ||||||
| 9 | career in banking; she was the Home Loan Officer at Joliet | ||||||
| 10 | Savings & Loan in Joliet; she also worked at the Joliet | ||||||
| 11 | Walgreens in the Jefferson Square Mall for 16 years; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was a member of the VFW #367 Ladies | ||||||
| 13 | Auxiliary, Joliet Elks Lodge #296, and the St. Paul the Apostle | ||||||
| 14 | Paulites; she and her husband raised their family at St. | ||||||
| 15 | Patrick Church Parish, where she was a member of the CCW and 55 | ||||||
| 16 | Club; her family was her greatest joy; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 18 | parents; her husband, Kenneth "Ozzie" Jerome McShane; her | ||||||
| 19 | brother, Gorman Joseph (Helen) O'Reilly; her sisters, Audrey | ||||||
| 20 | (Langdon) Meade, Dee (Len) Elberts, Virginia (Fred) MacKay, and | ||||||
| 21 | LaVerne (Ken) Hanks; and her brother-in-law, Ed Legan; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Betty McShane is survived by her children, Pat | ||||||
| 2 | (Denise) McShane, Kate McShane, and Kevin (Kate) McShane; her | ||||||
| 3 | grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Ryan, Jack, Nora, Peter, and | ||||||
| 4 | Kevin; her stepgrandchildren, Jamie and Jenny; her | ||||||
| 5 | godchildren, Paul Elberts, Casey Hanks, Robert MacKay, John | ||||||
| 6 | Legan, and Jerry McShane; her sister, Joan Legan; and her many | ||||||
| 7 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 11 | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | ||||||
| 12 | it further

| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Betty McShane as an expression of | ||||||
