| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Leo J. Harmon Sr. of River Forest, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on April 13, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was born to James and Marion Harmon; he | ||||||
| 6 | was a native of the Austin neighborhood in Chicago; he attended | ||||||
| 7 | Help of Christians Parish Grade School, St. Ignatius High | ||||||
| 8 | School, and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon retired from Harmon Electric Co. and | ||||||
| 10 | had a long, second career in real estate in Oak Park and River | ||||||
| 11 | Forest and at the University of Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon enjoyed acting and appeared in | ||||||
| 13 | countless plays on stages all across the Chicago region and in | ||||||
| 14 | television commercials; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was active for more than 50 years in | ||||||
| 16 | St. Luke Parish and was renowned for his annual dramatic | ||||||
| 17 | reading of the Passion of the Christ; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon was preceded in death by his brothers, | ||||||
| 19 | Jim, Bob, Joe, and Don and his sister, Marion; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Leo Harmon is survived by his wife of 57 years, | ||||||
| 2 | Judy; his children, Cynthia (Bill) Mastbrook, Laurette, Leo | ||||||
| 3 | (Kathleen), and Peter (Joan Mallers); his grandchildren, Sean | ||||||
| 4 | (Rachel), Matt (Kara), Colleen, and Conor Harmon, Brennan, | ||||||
| 5 | Logan, and Riley Harmon, and Liam, Aiden, Declan, and Annabelle | ||||||
| 6 | Mastbrook; his sisters-in-law, Marge and Anne Harmon; and many | ||||||
| 7 | nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great | ||||||
| 8 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 11 | Leo Harmon Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 12 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 13 | further
