| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Rod Krahl of Milan, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | December 22, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was born in Moline to Henry A. and | ||||||
6 | Bernice M. (Lemon) Krahl on November 20, 1946; he served with | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Fran Thorpe at | ||||||
8 | Zion Lutheran Church on January 31, 1969; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl started his career at Elliott Aviation | ||||||
10 | as a flight instructor during the day and worked on the flight | ||||||
11 | lines supporting aircraft during the evenings; he enjoyed a | ||||||
12 | 42-year career in aviation, serving as chief pilot for both | ||||||
13 | the Montgomery Elevator Company and Quest II, where he | ||||||
14 | developed lifelong friendships with the Hank and Hallene | ||||||
15 | families; and

16 | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in | ||||||
17 | Taylor Ridge, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and American | ||||||
18 | Legion Post 1166 Reynolds; he enjoyed all things aviation and | ||||||
19 | was an avid reader; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl is survived by his wife, Fran; his | ||||||
21 | sons, Rod (Barb) Krahl, Ryan (Jen) Krahl, and Travis Krahl; |

1 | his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Grace, Klaus, and Wilhelm; his | ||||||
2 | sister, Peggy (Krahl) Edwards; and his brothers, Ron Krahl, | ||||||
3 | Carl Krahl, and Doug (Tresa) Krahl; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Rod Krahl and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
7 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Rod Krahl as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
