| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Irene "Jeanne" Berghoff of Brighton, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on February 21, 2017, at the age of 82; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff was born in Charleston to David and | ||||||
| 6 | Emma (Bernardini) Giannini on June 13, 1934; she graduated from | ||||||
| 7 | Marquette Catholic High School in Alton in 1952 and married | ||||||
| 8 | Robert "Bob" Berghoff at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic | ||||||
| 9 | Church in Bethalto on October 10, 1959; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff worked for Shell Oil Co. from 1952 | ||||||
| 11 | to 1964, after which, she stayed at home to raise her children; | ||||||
| 12 | she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and Our | ||||||
| 13 | Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto where she was | ||||||
| 14 | present and participated in the Rosary every Saturday; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff enjoyed baking, bowling, animals, | ||||||
| 16 | especially her dachshunds, and mostly, spending time with her | ||||||
| 17 | grandchildren, friends, and family; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 19 | parents; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Irene Berghoff is survived by her husband; her | ||||||

| 1 | children, David Berghoff, and Mindi Lenhardt and her husband | ||||||
| 2 | David; three grandchildren, Kadi Lenhardt, Emma Lenhardt, and | ||||||
| 3 | Sawyer Lenhardt; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | Irene "Jeanne" Berghoff, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 7 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further

| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Irene Berghoff as an expression of | ||||||
