SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Emily M. DuPree of Beach Park, who passed
4away on February 13, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was born in Waukegan to Edward and
6Rosa Perez on August 14, 1937; she married Donald DuPree at Our
7Lady of Humility Church in Zion on February 11, 1956; and
8 WHEREAS, Emily DuPree worked in the activity department of
9the Crown Manor Nursing Home in Zion for 25 years; and
10 WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was a charter member of Our Lady of
11Humility Church and remained active as the church organist and
12in many other roles throughout the years; and
13 WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was preceded in death by her parents;
14her daughter, Anna DuPree; and her siblings, Julia Prickett,
15Angelo Perez, Joe Perez, Helen Murillo, and Linda Garcia; and
16 WHEREAS, Emily DuPree is survived by her husband of 61
17years, Don; her children, Jim (Kim) DuPree, and Jane (Jon) Oye;
18her grandchildren, Justin and Jessica DuPree, and Matthew,
19Abigail, and Andrew Oye; and her siblings, Theresa Gorman,
20Jennie Adams, Dolores Karner, Rosie (Bill) Jones, Eddie

1(Audrey) Perez, and Richard (Elizabeth) Perez; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Emily M. DuPree, and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Emily DuPree as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
