2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Walter J. Zmuda of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 17, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda was born to Joseph and Helen | ||||||
6 | (Gruzecka) Zmuda in Moline on November 4, 1927; he earned his | ||||||
7 | bachelor's degree at St. Ambrose College; he married Phyllis | ||||||
8 | E. Craig in Moline on September 15, 1951; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
9 | Navy during the Korean War; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda worked at Oscar Mayer in Davenport, | ||||||
11 | Iowa and Newhouse Paper in Moline and retired from C.J. Duffey | ||||||
12 | Paper Co. in Rock Island; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda was a member of Sacred Heart Church | ||||||
14 | in Moline, Ducks Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever and was a | ||||||
15 | lifetime member of the Elks; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda enjoyed hunting and fishing and | ||||||
17 | loved the outdoors; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda was preceded in death by his wife; | ||||||
19 | his sister, Bernice; and his brothers, Ben, Ed, and Joe Zmuda; | ||||||
20 | and

1 | WHEREAS, Walter Zmuda is survived by his son, Jim Zmuda, | ||||||
2 | and his sister-in-law, Adeline Zmuda; therefore, be it
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Walter J. Zmuda and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Walter Zmuda as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
