| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Dorothy Hunter, who passed away on April | ||||||
4 | 2, 2009; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was born on March 16, 1929; her | ||||||
6 | parents were Eunice Lacy and Wallace Dandridge; she also had | ||||||
7 | another father, Fred Gatlin, who later married her mother; she | ||||||
8 | married Marvin Jerome Hunter on October 9, 1945; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter completed elementary school and | ||||||
10 | high school in Memphis, Tennessee; she later moved to Chicago; | ||||||
11 | in 1953, she joined the Fellowship M.B. Church under the | ||||||
12 | leadership of Reverend Clay Evans; she then returned to | ||||||
13 | Memphis, where she stayed until she fell ill and returned to | ||||||
14 | Chicago, staying there until her passing; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was preceded in death by her | ||||||
16 | parents; her husband; her children, Elaine (Hunter) Malcome and | ||||||
17 | Maurice Hunter; her grandson, Randall Malcome; and her | ||||||
18 | great-grandson, Andre (Mann) Greene; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter is survived by her sons, Earl | ||||||
20 | Jerome Dandridge, Marvin Jerome Hunter, and Greg Hunter; her | ||||||
21 | daughters, Anita (Hunter) Barber and Vickie Lynn Jones; her 16 |

1 | grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and her many other | ||||||
2 | relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
5 | her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Hunter; and be | ||||||
6 | it further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Dorothy Hunter as an expression of | ||||||
9 | our sympathy.
