| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of former Pontiac Police Chief William | ||||||
| 4 | Carter, who passed away on February 20, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, William Carter began working at the Pontiac Police | ||||||
| 6 | Department on May 20, 1970 and spent over 23 years with the | ||||||
| 7 | department; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, William Carter became Chief of the Pontiac Police | ||||||
| 9 | Department in 1988; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, William Carter retired in September of 1993; he | ||||||
| 11 | became a leader for Mobile Team Unit 8, which trained and kept | ||||||
| 12 | police officers up to speed with the changing methods of the | ||||||
| 13 | profession; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, William Carter was respected and admired by his | ||||||
| 15 | fellow officers, both as a leader and as a law enforcement | ||||||
| 16 | professional; therefore, be it

| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of | ||||||
| 19 | former Pontiac Police Chief William Carter, and extend our | ||||||
| 20 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 3 | presented to the family of William Carter as an expression of | ||||||
| 4 | our deepest sympathy.
