| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Thomas Spurgeon of Bethalto, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on February 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Thomas Spurgeon was born in Alton to Joseph H. and | ||||||
| 6 | Theresa C. (Balke) Spurgeon on February 2, 1940; he married | ||||||
| 7 | Linda Sue Tarrant in Rosewood Heights on December 1, 1962; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Thomas Spurgeon was a Knights of Columbus | ||||||
| 9 | insurance agent for 35 years prior to his retirement in 2010; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Thomas Spurgeon was a member of Our Lady Queen of | ||||||
| 12 | Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, and a past member of St. | ||||||
| 13 | Kevin Catholic Church for 40 years; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Thomas Spurgeon was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 15 | parents and his siblings, Joe Spurgeon, John Spurgeon, Joseph | ||||||
| 16 | Spurgeon, Helen Claxton, Emma Jean Auten, and Leona Hohnsbehn; | ||||||
| 17 | and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Thomas Spurgeon is survived by his wife, Linda; | ||||||
| 19 | his children, April (Jeff) Myers, and Thomas (Becky) Spurgeon; | ||||||
| 20 | his grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Kalkbrenner, Andrew (Gabe) | ||||||
