2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Richard T. "Bogie" Bogaert of Colona, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on March 6, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert was born to James and Margaret | ||||||
6 | Williams Bogaert in Moline on September 19, 1932; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955; he married Tommie Bouler | ||||||
8 | on February 4, 1961, and they had two children; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert worked at John Deere Harvester | ||||||
10 | for 35 years; following retirement, he worked at Rain Drop Car | ||||||
11 | Wash; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert was commander of the American | ||||||
13 | Legion in Colona from 1968 to 1969; he served as an alderman | ||||||
14 | for the City of Colona and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic | ||||||
15 | Church; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert enjoyed gardening and was a fan | ||||||
17 | of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears; he also | ||||||
18 | coached Little League baseball and softball; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents; his two sisters; and his daughter, Kim; and

1 | WHEREAS, Richard Bogaert is survived by his wife, Tommie; | ||||||
2 | his son, Keith; his sisters, Carolyn Halsted and Diane | ||||||
3 | Swemline; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Richard T. "Bogie" Bogaert and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
7 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
8 | it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Richard Bogaert as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy.
