2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Clayton "Clay" Parks of Elgin, formerly | ||||||
4 | of Princeville, who passed away on February 15, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Clay Parks was born in Peoria to Roger and Leslie | ||||||
6 | Parks on February 26, 1986; he grew up in Princeville; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Northern Illinois University's College of | ||||||
8 | Business in 2014, where he was known as an outstanding student | ||||||
9 | and natural leader; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Clay Parks worked as a human resources manager at | ||||||
11 | Henry Pratt Co. in Aurora; he joined the team in November of | ||||||
12 | 2018 and was responsible for Aurora, Hammond, Indiana, and | ||||||
13 | Denver; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Clay Parks could strike up a conversation with | ||||||
15 | anyone he met, and his smile and laugh were contagious; he was | ||||||
16 | an avid fan of Chicago sports, including the Bears, Bulls, | ||||||
17 | Blackhawks, and Cubs; he had many hobbies, but his family was | ||||||
18 | his greatest joy; he took his responsibilities as a husband and | ||||||
19 | father very seriously and held those titles above all else; and

20 | WHEREAS, Clay Parks was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
21 | Roger Parks; his paternal grandparents, Earl Dale Parks and |

1 | Evelyn Casey; and his maternal grandfather, Bill Deer; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Clay Parks is survived by his wife, Abby (Bowen) | ||||||
3 | Parks; his son, Axel Parks; his mother and stepfather, Leslie | ||||||
4 | and Dave Kendra; his brother, Cole Sloan; his in-laws, Todd and | ||||||
5 | Kim Bowen; his sister-in-law, Kaylynn (Mike) O'Donnell; and his | ||||||
6 | maternal grandmother, Charlene Bell; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Clayton "Clay" Parks and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
