| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Anne E. McElroy of Decatur, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on February 28, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Anne McElroy was born on July 4, 1962, in Decatur; | ||||||
| 6 | her parents were Richard and Elizabeth Anne "Betty" McElroy; | ||||||
| 7 | and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Anne McElroy began her career with the State of | ||||||
| 9 | Illinois as the administrative assistant to the late Senator | ||||||
| 10 | Penny Severns; she subsequently entered the hotel industry, | ||||||
| 11 | beginning with her work with Tharaldson Enterprises as the | ||||||
| 12 | Director of Regional Sales, and oversaw the sales and marketing | ||||||
| 13 | efforts of many hotels throughout the country; in 2003, she | ||||||
| 14 | returned to the State of Illinois as the Deputy Director of | ||||||
| 15 | Personnel for the Illinois Department of Corrections; she ended | ||||||
| 16 | her career as the Chief of Labor Relations for IDOC; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Anne McElroy was a member of Ss. James and Patrick | ||||||
| 18 | Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Anne McElroy was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
| 20 | and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Anne McElroy is survived by her children, Colleen | ||||||
| 2 | Alexandra Athey and Richard Hayden Athey; her sister, Ellen | ||||||
| 3 | McElroy-Kenworth; her brothers, Michael (Lynn) McElroy, | ||||||
| 4 | Patrick (Barbara) McElroy, and Timothy (Leslie) McElroy; her | ||||||
| 5 | nieces and nephews, Hilary and Colin Runion, Byrnes Kenworth, | ||||||
| 6 | Conor and Brennan McElroy, Matthew McElroy, and Dixie McElroy; | ||||||
| 7 | her special cousin, Mary Adams; her ex-husband, Joseph Athey; | ||||||
| 8 | and her many other relatives, friends, and co-workers; | ||||||
| 9 | therefore, be it

| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 12 | her family and friends, the passing of Anne E. McElroy; and be | ||||||
| 13 | it further
