SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Donald Piazza of Benton, who passed away
on March 10, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza was born on November 28, 1945 in
Franklin County; he was the son of Vernon Piazza and Wanda
(Crisp) Piazza; he married the former Phyllis Treece in 1969;
and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza served his country with pride and
distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the
Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza was employed as an electrician; he
was a member of the I.B.E.W. and U.M.W.A.; and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza enjoyed sports, watching his son
Brad coach basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren
and family; and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza was preceded in death by his parents
and his brother, John Piazza; and
WHEREAS, Donald Piazza is survived by his wife, Phyllis

Piazza; his son, Brad Piazza and his wife, Daniela; his
daughter, Tara Montgomery; his grandchildren, Jake and
Isabella Piazza and Zeth and Kalie Montgomery; his sister,
Linda Spracklin; and his special friends, Tom and Sue
Whittington; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
his family and friends, the passing of Donald Piazza; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Donald Piazza as an expression of
our sympathy.
