| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif of | ||||||
| 4 | Franklin, who passed away on January 31, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri | ||||||
| 6 | to Robert and Regina Saviola Tucker on January 31, 1991; she | ||||||
| 7 | married Jonathan E. Austif in Franklin on February 2, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was a devoted wife and loving | ||||||
| 9 | mother; she enjoyed knitting, making blankets for children, and | ||||||
| 10 | doing arts and crafts; she loved writing poetry, singing, and | ||||||
| 11 | reading; she was a member of Franklin Christian Church, where | ||||||
| 12 | she sang in the choir and watched children in the nursery; she | ||||||
| 13 | was a member of the Franklin Fire Department; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Jacob was born on July 15, 2013; he was a curious | ||||||
| 15 | boy who loved helping his father work on trucks, watching | ||||||
| 16 | Veggietales, and super heros; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Jocelyn was born on November 10, 2016; she had her | ||||||
| 18 | father's ears and her mother's smile; she was always a happy | ||||||
| 19 | baby and loved being cuddled; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Betsie Austif was preceded in death by her | ||||||

| 1 | brother, Jordan Proffitt, and Jacob and Jocelyn's paternal | ||||||
| 2 | great-grandparents, Joseph Edger, and Jean Austif; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif are survived by | ||||||
| 4 | Jonathan, father and husband; daughters and sisters, Abigail | ||||||
| 5 | Schurman, and Issabelle Hopper; Betsie's parents, Robert and | ||||||
| 6 | Regina Tucker; Jacob and Jocelyn's paternal grandparents, Jeff | ||||||
| 7 | Austif and fianc�, Kathy, and Beverly Teaney; Betsie's | ||||||
| 8 | grandparents, Roger and Shirley Tucker, Larry and Linda Jones, | ||||||
| 9 | Robert and Jo Henson, and Pete and Judy Saviola; Betsie's | ||||||
| 10 | sisters, Whitney Proffitt, and Maddi Tucker; Jacob and | ||||||

| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif, and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 19 | condolences to their family, friends, and all who knew and | ||||||
| 20 | loved them; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to the family of Betsie, Jacob, and Jocelyn Austif as | ||||||
| 23 | an expression of our deepest sympathy.
