2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of William Lundy of Colona, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on January 22, 2017 at the age of 86; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, William Lundy was born in Colona to Arthur and | ||||||
6 | Edna Dobrinski Lundy on February 3, 1930; he married Hetty | ||||||
7 | Staiger in Ulm, Germany, in January of 1955; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, William Lundy was a veteran of the United States | ||||||
9 | Army; he served in Korea, and retired as a First Sergeant; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, William Lundy was an independent truck driver; he | ||||||
11 | was a lifetime member of Green Rock/Colona American Legion Post | ||||||
12 | 1233, where he was the founder of their honor guard; he also | ||||||
13 | was a member of AMVETS, VFW, 40 & 8, and Green River United | ||||||
14 | Methodist Church; he was the co-founder of the Green Rock | ||||||
15 | Memorial Day Parade; and

16 | WHEREAS, William Lundy was preceded in death by his | ||||||
17 | parents; his brother, Arthur, who was killed in action in | ||||||
18 | Korea; and a sister, Ruth Ann; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, William Lundy is survived by his wife, Hetty | ||||||
20 | Lundy; his children, Patricia Kennedy, Angela (Jeffery) |

1 | Golightly, and Klaus Lundy; his six grandchildren, 10 | ||||||
2 | great-grandchildren, and his sister, Bonnie Stamp; therefore, | ||||||

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | William Lundy, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of William Lundy as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy.
