2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Dorothy Marie Stumpe of Alton, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on February 12, 2011; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was born on November 9, 1931, in | ||||||
6 | Bremen; her parents were Henry and Marie (Schnoeker) Wilson; | ||||||
7 | she married Roger W. Stumpe on April 11, 1952; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe graduated from Chester High | ||||||
9 | School; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was employed as the secretary to | ||||||
11 | the Alton Park and Recreation Commission for more than 25 | ||||||
12 | years, first at the Rock Springs office and then at the Haskell | ||||||
13 | Park office; she enjoyed helping Alton families sign up for | ||||||
14 | park events and helped enroll thousands of young people on | ||||||
15 | Little League and soccer teams; she was particularly proud to | ||||||
16 | assist in the development of Moore Park; and

17 | WHEREAS, After retiring from the Alton Park and Recreation | ||||||
18 | Commission, Dorothy Stumpe traveled the world with her friends | ||||||
19 | to numerous places, including Europe, Australia, and Africa; | ||||||
20 | she was also an avid gardener and walker; and

1 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was a member of St. Matthew's | ||||||
2 | Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was preceded in death by her | ||||||
4 | parents and her husband; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe is survived by her daughter, Karen | ||||||
6 | (Scott Bell); her sons, Michael and Joseph (Carrie Rengers); | ||||||
7 | her granddaughters, Sarah and Lauren Bell; and her sister, Vera | ||||||
8 | (Lee) Bergfeld; therefore, be it
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
11 | her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Marie Stumpe; | ||||||
12 | and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Dorothy Stumpe as an expression of | ||||||
15 | our sympathy.
