| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Nicholas A. "Nick" Elizondo of | ||||||
| 4 | Belleville, who passed away on January 21, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was born in Springfield to Jody and | ||||||
| 6 | Mark Elizondo on
October 9, 1989; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo dealt with heterotaxy, biliary | ||||||
| 8 | atresia, liver transplant, and most recently cancer; he was | ||||||
| 9 | known for what he fought for and not what he was fighting | ||||||
| 10 | against; he was a champion of spreading awareness and always | ||||||
| 11 | made the most of life; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was a member of the Outreach | ||||||
| 13 | Committee for Heterotaxy Connection; he served on the | ||||||
| 14 | leadership team, connecting new members into the Heterotaxy | ||||||
| 15 | Connection
community, and was a relentless advocate for | ||||||
| 16 | increased awareness, leading blood drives through
his local | ||||||
| 17 | Masonic temple, participating in heart walks, and being one of | ||||||
| 18 | the loudest voices on
Awareness Day; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was a member of St. Clair Lodge #24 | ||||||
| 20 | AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies,
and Ainad Shrine; he organized | ||||||
| 21 | blood drives and toy drives for the Masonic Lodge; he was
an | ||||||

| 1 | assistant coach of the Litchfield Purple Panthers football and | ||||||
| 2 | wrestling teams; he was a member of
Future Farmers of America | ||||||
| 3 | and Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield; he was president of | ||||||
| 4 | JILG (Jobs for Illinois Graduates); he loved Marvel, the St. | ||||||
| 5 | Louis Cardinals, and his family; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo is survived by his wife, Katie | ||||||
| 7 | Elizondo; his parents; and numerous family and friends; | ||||||
| 8 | therefore, be it

| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 11 | Nicholas A. "Nick" Elizondo and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 12 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 13 | it further

| 15 | presented to the family of Nick Elizondo as an expression of | ||||||
