2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of William "Bill" H. Wisdom of Erie, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 8, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom was born to Claude and Arvilla | ||||||
6 | (Stellrecht) Wisdom in Moline on November 3, 1930; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Geneseo High School; he married Joyce Minnaert | ||||||
8 | at St. Malachy's Church in Geneseo on September 12, 1953; he | ||||||
9 | served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, After his discharge from the military, Bill | ||||||
11 | Wisdom began farming in Geneseo and then Erie until 1975; he | ||||||
12 | then devoted his time to driving trucks and operating Wisdom | ||||||
13 | Trucking, Inc; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom owned and built stock cars; he loved | ||||||
15 | racing and followed NASCAR all of his life; he was | ||||||
16 | mechanically gifted and could fabricate almost anything; he | ||||||
17 | had an amazing sense of direction and was a giving man, | ||||||
18 | frequently helping those in need; and

19 | WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
20 | his brother, Ron Wisdom; and his great-grandson, Mason | ||||||
21 | Mitchell; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bill Wisdom is survived by his wife, Joyce; his | ||||||
2 | children, Chris (Al) Livingston, Steve Wisdom, Dan (Peggy) | ||||||
3 | Wisdom, Mary (Clint) Thulen, and Bill (Kara) Wisdom; his nine | ||||||
4 | grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, | ||||||
5 | Shirley Moffitt, Ruth Burkert, and Joyce Evans; therefore, be | ||||||
6 | it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | William "Bill" H. Wisdom and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
10 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Bill Wisdom as an expression of our | ||||||
14 | deepest sympathy.
