| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Colleen Ann Ryan of Chicago, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 13, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan was born to Mark and Mary Ann Murphy | ||||||
6 | on June 20, 1982; she never stopped going to school and earned | ||||||
7 | numerous degrees and licenses; she married her high school | ||||||
8 | sweetheart, Joe Ryan; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan devoted herself to working with | ||||||
10 | children with special needs; as a special education | ||||||
11 | administrator, she fought for extra support for children with | ||||||
12 | special needs and trained scores of teachers to do the same; | ||||||
13 | this year, she had been offered the position of principal at | ||||||
14 | Pilsen Community Academy; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan loved spontaneous get-togethers, | ||||||
16 | summer barbecues, predawn runs, and summer trips to Michigan; | ||||||
17 | to her, family was sacred; she will be remembered as a kind and | ||||||
18 | loyal friend; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan was preceded in death by her father, | ||||||
20 | Mark Murphy, and her grandparents, Morgan and Virginia Murphy | ||||||
21 | and Timothy Evans; and

1 | WHEREAS, Colleen Ryan is survived by her husband, Joe | ||||||
2 | Ryan; her three children, Connor Matthew, Nora Mary, and | ||||||
3 | Thomas Joseph; her mother, Mary Ann; her sister, Peggy (Chuck) | ||||||
4 | Galey; her brothers, Jack Murphy, Mark (Marty) Murphy, and | ||||||
5 | Brian Murphy; her nieces and nephews, Ella, Charlie, Brian | ||||||
6 | Jr., Ashley, Halle, and Paige; and her sisters-in-law and | ||||||
7 | brothers-in-law, Sue (Bill) Abear, Bernie (Judy) Ryan, and | ||||||
8 | Chris (Dara) Ryan; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Colleen Ann Ryan and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
12 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
