2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Eugene Seaver of Ringwood, formerly of | ||||||
4 | Wonder Lake, who passed away on December 19, 2016 at the age of | ||||||
5 | 81; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver was born to Russell and Emily Seaver | ||||||
7 | on August 10, 1935; he married Patricia Thilken at St. Agnes | ||||||
8 | Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 28, 1956; | ||||||
9 | and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver joined the United States Army in | ||||||
11 | 1955 and worked in the Chemical Corp.; Pat joined him while he | ||||||
12 | was stationed in England and Germany; after being discharged in | ||||||
13 | 1958, they moved back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and then later to | ||||||
14 | Wonder Lake; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver was the owner of Mohawk | ||||||
16 | Refrigeration and Eagle Sales for over 35 years; he enjoyed | ||||||
17 | volunteering in various ministries; he was a Boy Scout and Cub | ||||||
18 | Scout leader, a CCD teacher, a Stephens Minister, a RCIA | ||||||
19 | sponsor, and an active member of the Hispanic Ministry at The | ||||||
20 | Church of Holy Apostles; he was also involved in many retreats | ||||||
21 | at the Villa; and

1 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver lived his faith with his repeated | ||||||
2 | missionary work in Haiti, Africa, and Slovakia; he loved to | ||||||
3 | travel and meet people of all countries; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver loved adventure, whether it was | ||||||
5 | sledding, canoeing, hiking, or trying to surf in Hawaii; he | ||||||
6 | will be remembered for his quiet and gentle understanding of | ||||||
7 | people and he leaves a legacy of love and compassion; he was a | ||||||
8 | brother in life and death to the Tamargo and Del Portillo | ||||||
9 | families, who fled Cuba in the early 1960s; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver was preceded in death by his | ||||||
11 | parents; his wife, Patricia Seaver; his son, Joe Seaver; his | ||||||
12 | daughter, Mary Welzen; his grandson, Jeremy Ackerman; and his | ||||||
13 | brother-in-law, Dick Thilken; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Eugene Seaver is survived by his children, Anne | ||||||
15 | Seaver, Cathy (Brian) Ackerman, Paul Seaver, John (Michelle) | ||||||
16 | Seaver, and Therese (Buddy) Matthys; his son-in-law, Robert | ||||||
17 | Welzen; his 20 grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Mary Catherine | ||||||
18 | Welzen, Jenna Seaver, Melissa, Nicholas, Zachary, and Kelly | ||||||
19 | Ackerman, Ashley, Matthew, Allix, and Abigail Seaver, Mark, | ||||||
20 | Ethan, Emily, and Nicole Seaver, Brooke, Courtney, Lucas, | ||||||
21 | Michaela, and Noah Matthys; his four great-grandchildren, | ||||||
22 | Marcus and Rowan Seaver, and Brooklyn and Dylan Ackerman; his | ||||||
23 | sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Thilken; his five nieces and nephews, |

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
5 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Eugene Seaver, and | ||||||
6 | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all | ||||||
7 | who knew and loved him; and be it further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Eugene Seaver as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
