SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Wilbur Henry Kamholz of Marengo, who
passed away on December 14, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur Kamholz was born to Walter and Nellie
(Bielema) Kamholz on July 3, 1922; he served in the United
States Navy during World War II; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur Kamholz worked as a carpenter for Deneen
Construction of Marengo for 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur Kamholz was a member of American Legion
Post 192 for 71 years; he was a lifelong member of Zion
Lutheran Church; he took great pride in raising and showing his
Arabian horses; he was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs and
Green Bay Packers; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur Kamholz was preceded in death by his
parents and his sister, Beverly Kamholz; and
WHEREAS, Wilbur Kamholz is survived by his brother,
Clifford (Shirley) Kamholz; his nephews, Greg Kamholz, and Gary
(Jackie) Kamholz; his niece, Connie (Bill) Davidson; five
great-nephews; one great-niece; and an amazing friend, Lane

Samuelson; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Wilbur Henry Kamholz, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Wilbur Kamholz as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
