| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Marjorie "Margie" Affrunti, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on December 20, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti was born in 1923 in Joliet and | ||||||
| 6 | was a lifelong resident of Joliet; she married Dom Affrunti in | ||||||
| 7 | 1947; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti graduated from Joliet Central | ||||||
| 9 | High School with the Class of 1941; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti was employed as a secretary at | ||||||
| 11 | Joliet Township High School for 32 years; she was one of 4 | ||||||
| 12 | secretaries who organized the Joliet Township High School | ||||||
| 13 | Clerical Union and served as president of the organization for | ||||||
| 14 | 4 years; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti was the president of the Phoenix | ||||||
| 16 | Club for 10 years and served as secretary of the organization | ||||||
| 17 | for one year; she served as Eucharistic Minister and a Lector | ||||||
| 18 | at the Church of St. Anthony in Joliet and was a member of the | ||||||
| 19 | Council of Catholic Women for 20 years; in 2003, she was | ||||||
| 20 | designated as Woman of the Year at the Church of St. Anthony; | ||||||
| 21 | she also volunteered at the Rialto Square Theatre for 20 years; | ||||||

| 2 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 3 | husband, Dominic "Dom" Affrunti; her parents, Ann and George | ||||||
| 4 | Smolak; a brother, Richard Smolak; and many in-laws; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marjorie Affrunti is survived by 2 daughters, | ||||||
| 6 | Nancy (Phil) Osborne-Smieszkal and Pamela (Jim) Barrowman; 3 | ||||||
| 7 | grandsons, Justin (fiancee, Rachel) and Ryan (Robyn) Osborne | ||||||
| 8 | and Tim (Courtney) Barrowman; and 3 great-grandchildren, Gage | ||||||
| 9 | and Cam Osborne and Brayden Barrowman; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
| 12 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Marjorie "Margie" | ||||||
| 13 | Affrunti; and be it further
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to the family of Marjorie Affrunti as an expression | ||||||
| 16 | of our sympathy.
