| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of William "Bill" Redden of Wood River, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on January 16, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, William Redden was born on June 8, 1927, to Hugh | ||||||
| 6 | and Thelma (Frazier) Redden; he married Helen Wilkinson on June | ||||||
| 7 | 11, 1949, who preceded him in death on May 5, 1989; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, William Redden worked for Roxana School District | ||||||
| 9 | #1 for 29 years; he was a physical education teacher, math and | ||||||
| 10 | health teacher, and a cross country, track, and basketball | ||||||
| 11 | coach; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, William Redden married Donna Kemp on November 3, | ||||||
| 13 | 1990, in Rosewood Heights; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, William Redden enjoyed golf, woodworking, | ||||||
| 15 | fishing, coin collecting, pinochle, and was an avid Chicago | ||||||
| 16 | Cubs fan; he was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church | ||||||
| 17 | in Rosewood Heights for 55 years, serving as a trustee and on | ||||||
| 18 | numerous committees; he served as a Wood River city councilman | ||||||
| 19 | for 9 years; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, William Redden was preceded in death by his | ||||||

| 1 | parents; his first wife; his granddaughter, Kristina; and his | ||||||
| 2 | brothers, Hugh and James; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, William Redden is survived by his second wife, | ||||||
| 4 | Donna; his sons, Dave (Barb), Richard, and Darin (Chandra) | ||||||
| 5 | Redden; his daughters, Debby Nicholas, Donna K. (Gary) Murray, | ||||||
| 6 | and Diane (Don) Ford; his grandchildren, Shawn, Bradley, | ||||||
| 7 | Alison, Donny, Kelly, Sandy, Rachel, Stephanie, Zach, Becky Jo, | ||||||
| 8 | Vicky, Donnie, Deanna, Danny, Annie, D.J., Meghan, and Maddie; | ||||||
| 9 | his 16 great-grandchildren; his 2 expectant | ||||||
| 10 | great-grandchildren; his sisters, Marge (Sam) Carter, Jan | ||||||
| 11 | LeFeber, and Betty (Frank) Pasternak; his sisters-in-law, | ||||||
| 12 | Betty and Rosemary Redden; his stepson, David (Annette) | ||||||
| 13 | Dennigmann; his stepdaughter, Dawn (Brian) O'Rourke; his | ||||||
| 14 | nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Wilkinson and Kemp extended | ||||||
| 15 | families; therefore, be it

| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | William Redden, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to the family of William Redden as an expression of | ||||||
| 23 | our deepest sympathy.
