Bill Title: Amends the Counties Code. In provisions concerning coroner's fees, requires that the coroner waive the fee for a copy of an autopsy report if the copy is requested by a physician who provided the coroner with a copy of the decedent's medical records free of charge. Effective immediately.

| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3295

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3295 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||
| 5 | 3-3013.5 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (55 ILCS 5/3-3013.5 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 3-3013.5. Health care records requested by the | ||||||
| 8 | coroner. Any health care records requested by a coroner or | ||||||
| 9 | physician performing an autopsy under Section 3-3014 shall be | ||||||
| 10 | requested and paid for in accordance with Section 8-2001 of the | ||||||
| 11 | Code of Civil Procedure.

| 12 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 13 | becoming law.".
