SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
210 ILCS 45/3-808

Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Provides that the Department of Public Health, in consultation with the Department of State Police, shall include in its protocol best practices for the preservation of crime scenes, subject to the needs of a resident who has been sexually assaulted in a long term care facility or elsewhere.

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by changing
5Section 3-808 as follows:
6 (210 ILCS 45/3-808)
7 Sec. 3-808. Protocol for sexual assault victims; nursing
8home. The Department shall develop a protocol for the care and
9treatment of residents who have been sexually assaulted in a
10long term care facility or elsewhere. In consultation with the
11Department of State Police, the Department shall include in its
12protocol best practices for the preservation of crime scenes,
13subject to the needs of a resident who has been sexually
14assaulted.
