Bill Title: Amends the Procurement of Domestic Products Act. Provides that all motor vehicles purchased or leased for one year or more by a State agency, on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act, shall have a Vehicle Identification Number that begins with the number 1, the number 2, the number 4, or the number 5. Provides that nothing shall require a State agency to stop using any vehicle that exists in the State fleet of motor vehicles on the effective date of this amendatory Act.

30 ILCS 517/35 new

Amends the Procurement of Domestic Products Act. 1 AN ACT concerning finance.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Procurement of Domestic Products Act is
5amended by adding Section 35 as follows:
6 (30 ILCS 517/35 new)
7 Sec. 35. North American-made vehicles. All motor vehicles
8purchased or leased for one year or more by a State agency, on
9or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd
10General Assembly, shall have a Vehicle Identification Number
11that begins with the number 1, the number 2, the number 4, or
12the number 5. Nothing in this Section shall require a State
13agency to stop using any vehicle that exists in the State fleet
14of motor vehicles on the effective date of this amendatory Act
15of the 102nd General Assembly.
