Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires managed care organizations under contract with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to follow a standard prescription drug formulary established by the Department by rule. Requires the Department to adopt any rules necessary to implement the provision. Effective January 1, 2018.

AN ACT concerning public aid.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
adding Section 5-30.6 as follows:
(305 ILCS 5/5-30.6 new)
Sec. 5-30.6. Standard drug formulary; managed care
organizations. Managed care organizations under contract with
the Department shall follow a standard prescription drug
formulary established by the Department by rule. The Department
shall adopt any rules necessary to implement this Section.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
1, 2018.
