Bill Title: Amends the Department of Veterans' Affairs Act. Provides that the Department shall require that each employee of a Veterans Home receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered. Amends the University of Illinois Hospital Act and the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that each employee of a hospital who works in the hospital's intensive care unit must receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered. Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Provides that each employee of a facility must receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Veterans' Affairs Act is
5amended by adding Section 2.01d as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 2805/2.01d new)
7 Sec. 2.01d. Employees; COVID-19 vaccine. Notwithstanding
8any other provision of law, the Department shall require that
9each employee of a Veterans Home receive a vaccine for
10COVID-19 if offered.
11 Section 10. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is
12amended by adding Section 8d as follows:
13 (110 ILCS 330/8d new)
14 Sec. 8d. Employees; COVID-19 vaccine. Notwithstanding any
15other provision of law, an employee of the University of
16Illinois Hospital who works in the hospital's intensive care
17unit must receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered.
18 Section 15. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by adding
19Section 2-206.06 as follows:

3Notwithstanding any other provision of law, each employee of a
4facility must receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered.
5 Section 20. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
6adding Section 6.28 as follows:
7 (210 ILCS 85/6.28 new)
8 Sec. 6.28. Employees; COVID-19 vaccine. Notwithstanding
9any other provision of law, each employee of a hospital
10licensed under this Act who works in the hospital's intensive
11care unit must receive a vaccine for COVID-19 if offered.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13becoming law.
