1 | AN ACT concerning the State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act is | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by changing Section 4 as follows:

7 | Sec. 4. Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority; | |||||||||||||||||||

10 | 25 members. The

Authority shall consist | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | of the Illinois Attorney General, or his or her
designee, the | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | Director of Corrections, the Director
of State Police, the | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | Director of Public Health, the Director of Children and Family | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | Services, the Sheriff of Cook County, the
State's Attorney of | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | Cook County, the clerk of the circuit court of Cook
County, the | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, the | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | Superintendent of the Chicago Police
Department, the Director | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | of the Office of the State's Attorneys Appellate
Prosecutor, | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | the Executive Director of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training
| |||||||||||||||||||
20 | Standards Board, the State Appellate Defender, the Public | |||||||||||||||||||
21 | Defender of Cook County, and the following additional
members, | |||||||||||||||||||
22 | each of whom
shall be appointed by the Governor: a circuit | |||||||||||||||||||
23 | court clerk, a sheriff,
a State's Attorney of a
county other |

1 | than Cook, a Public Defender of a county other than Cook, a | ||||||
2 | chief of police, and 6 members of the
general public. | ||||||
3 | Members appointed on and after the effective date of this | ||||||
4 | amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly shall be confirmed | ||||||
5 | by the Senate. | ||||||
6 | The Governor from time to time shall designate a Chairman | ||||||
7 | of the Authority
from the membership. All members of the | ||||||
8 | Authority appointed by the Governor
shall serve at the pleasure | ||||||
9 | of the Governor for a term not to exceed 4 years.
The initial | ||||||
10 | appointed members of the Authority shall serve from January,
| ||||||
11 | 1983 until the third Monday in January, 1987 or until their | ||||||
12 | successors are
appointed. | ||||||
13 | The Authority shall meet at least quarterly, and all | ||||||
14 | meetings of the
Authority shall be called by the Chairman. | ||||||
