AN ACT concerning public employee benefits..
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing
Section 17-144 as follows:
(40 ILCS 5/17-144) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 17-144)
Sec. 17-144. To fill vacancies. To fill any vacancies
occurring in the Board of members elected from the teachers, or
pensioners, or administrators until the next annual election,
when the vacancies shall be filled as provided by this Article.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
