Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that in townships with a population of less than 15,000, a highway commissioner may have a pecuniary interest in lease contracts if the aggregate total of the contracts is less than $2,000 (rather than $1,000) in the same fiscal year with the approval of the town board of trustees or the highway board of auditors. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by changing
5 Section 6-411 as follows:
6 (605 ILCS 5/6-411) (from Ch. 121, par. 6-411)
7 Sec. 6-411. Pecuniary interest in leases. In townships with
8 a population of less than 15,000, with the approval of the town
9 board of trustees or the highway board of auditors, as the case
10 may be, a highway commissioner may have a pecuniary interest in
11 lease contracts if the aggregate total of those contracts is
12 less than $2,000 $1,000 in the same fiscal year.

14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15 becoming law.
