Bill Title: Amends the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act and the Regional Transportation Authority Act. Provides that, on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, the Regional Transportation Authority, Chicago Transit Authority, Commuter Rail Division, and Suburban Bus Division must procure goods and professional services in a manner substantially in accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Procurement Code to the extent applicable.

AN ACT concerning local government.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is
amended by adding Section 54 as follows:
(70 ILCS 3605/54 new)
Sec. 54. Procurement of goods and professional services.
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, on and
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th
General Assembly, the Authority must procure goods and
professional services in a manner substantially in accordance
with the requirements of the Illinois Procurement Code to the
extent applicable.
Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
amended by adding Section 2.40 as follows:

Sec. 2.40. Procurement of goods and professional services.
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, on and
after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th
General Assembly, the Authority and each of the Service Boards
must procure goods and professional services in a manner
