Bill Title: Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the 16th day of July of each year is designated a commemorative holiday to be known as Atomic Veterans Day and to be observed throughout the State as a day in honor and remembrance of the men and women of this Nation who during their time of service experienced exposure to nuclear radiation while on active duty and served so valiantly in the cause of freedom.

Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5adding Section 108 as follows:
6 (5 ILCS 490/108 new)
7 Sec. 108. Atomic Veterans Day. The 16th day of July of each
8year is designated a commemorative holiday to be known as
9Atomic Veterans Day and to be observed throughout the State as
10a day in honor and remembrance of the men and women of this
