| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Winchester Elementary | ||||||
| 4 | School 8th grade girls basketball team, the Wolverines, on | ||||||
| 5 | winning the 2016 Illinois Elementary School Association Class | ||||||
| 6 | 8-2A State Championship; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Wolverines defeated the Decatur Hope Hawks by | ||||||
| 8 | a score of 37 to 23 to win the State Championship; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Wolverines won the Regional Championship by | ||||||
| 10 | defeating Greenfield Elementary School; they won the Sectional | ||||||
| 11 | Championship by defeating Brown County Elementary School; in | ||||||
| 12 | the first round of the State Tournament, they defeated the 2015 | ||||||
| 13 | Champions, Lewistown Central Elementary School; in the second | ||||||
| 14 | round of the State Tournament, they beat the previously | ||||||
| 15 | undefeated Altamont Elementary School team; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, This is the second State Championship for the | ||||||
| 17 | Wolverines in the last three seasons; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, The Wolverines complied a record of 25 wins and | ||||||
| 19 | two losses on their way to the championship; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The Wolverines are Madi DeJaynes, Reagan Evans, | ||||||

| 7 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 8 | congratulate the Winchester Elementary School 8th grade girls | ||||||
| 9 | basketball team, the Wolverines, on winning the 2016 Illinois | ||||||
| 10 | Elementary School Association Class 8-2A State Championship, | ||||||
| 11 | and we wish them many more years of success; and be it further
