2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Darrell | ||||||
4 | "Del" Rea of Christopher, who passed away on July 10, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was born on July 11, 1948, in | ||||||
6 | Carbondale; he was the son of Jesse and Betty (Maness) Rea; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea served his country with pride and | ||||||
8 | distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps, | ||||||
9 | having served 3 tours of duty with the 1st Marine Division; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea served as the editor of the | ||||||
11 | Christopher Progress for many years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was a former citizen of the year in | ||||||
13 | Christopher; he was the former president of the Christopher | ||||||
14 | Chamber of Commerce; he also helped organize the youth fishing | ||||||
15 | derby in Christopher, where he was well known as a friend to | ||||||
16 | the community; and

17 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was a member of the Disabled American | ||||||
18 | Veterans, the American Legion, and the Homecoming Committee; | ||||||
19 | and

1 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
2 | and his wife, Kathryn; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Darrell Rea is survived by his children, Jeff Rea | ||||||
4 | and Kristin Rea; his grandson, Jason Thomas Rea; and his | ||||||
5 | sisters, Karen Hornat and Linda Rea; therefore, be it
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
7 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
8 | mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of | ||||||
9 | Darrell "Del" Rea; and be it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Darrell Rea as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | sympathy.
