2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Bill | ||||||
4 | Morris of West Frankfort, who passed away on October 17, 2010; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris was born on February 12, 1927, in West | ||||||
7 | Frankfort; his parents were Joe and Lillie (Griffith) Kee | ||||||
8 | Morris; he married Pat (Avery) Morris on March 10, 1950, in | ||||||
9 | West Frankfort; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris served his country with pride and | ||||||
11 | distinction as a member of the United States Navy; he was a | ||||||
12 | member of American Legion Post 1961 of Orient; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris retired after many years of service as | ||||||
14 | a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris was very active in many community and | ||||||
16 | county activities; he was a member of Franklin County Country | ||||||
17 | Club and a former board member of the Frankfort Unit District | ||||||
18 | 168 School Board; he served on the Franklin County Sheriff's | ||||||
19 | Department Merit Board and was a former member of the Franklin | ||||||
20 | County Board and the Denning Cemetery Board; he was also an | ||||||
21 | active member of the Redbird Boosters Club, the West Frankfort |

1 | Masonic Lodge 567, where he was also a past master, and the | ||||||
2 | Shriners; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
4 | his wife; and his brother, Kenneth Morris; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bill Morris is survived by his son, Greg and his | ||||||
6 | wife, LaVeme Morris; his daughters, Terri Morris and Cindy Jo | ||||||
7 | and her husband, Allan Knopf; his 7 grandchildren; his 13 | ||||||
8 | great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Benns; and his many | ||||||
9 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
11 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
12 | mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Bill | ||||||
13 | Morris; and be it further
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
15 | presented to the family of Bill Morris as an expression of our | ||||||
16 | sympathy.
