| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the | ||||||
| 4 | Downers Grove Babe Ruth 13-year-old All-Star team on the | ||||||
| 5 | occasion of the team's successful season; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Downers Grove All-Stars was one of 12 teams | ||||||
| 7 | that competed at the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in | ||||||
| 8 | Logansport, Indiana; the team qualified to participate in the | ||||||
| 9 | regional tournament by winning the Northern Illinois State | ||||||
| 10 | Tournament held in La Grange by defeating Westmont in the | ||||||
| 11 | championship game by a score of 16-3; the team ended the | ||||||
| 12 | tournament with an impressive 4-0 record; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, In the 1st round of the regional tournament, the | ||||||
| 14 | Downers Grove All-Stars held on to a one-run lead and defeated | ||||||
| 15 | host team Logansport by a score of 6-5; the squad's | ||||||
| 16 | second-round game against South Bend, Indiana ended in a 16-11 | ||||||
| 17 | loss for Downers Grove; hampered by injuries to 3 players, the | ||||||
| 18 | team was subsequently eliminated from regional play by Saginaw | ||||||
| 19 | Valley, Michigan; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The members of the Downers Grove All-Stars are | ||||||
| 21 | Anthony Airdo, Luke Bondi, Jack Clemens, Mike Connolly, Alex | ||||||
| 22 | Emig, Nick King, Thomas Kochan, Zach Konezney, Dan Limanowski, | ||||||

| 1 | Tommy Matysik, Matt Pabis, Costa Sampras, Josh Stirn, Eric | ||||||
| 2 | Wisz, and Dane Zarnowski; the team's manager is Leo Ellis and | ||||||

| 4 | Stirn; therefore, be it

| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 6 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 7 | congratulate the members of the Downers Grove Babe Ruth | ||||||
| 8 | 13-year-old All-Star team on the occasion of the team's | ||||||
| 9 | accomplishments and wish them continued success and happiness | ||||||
| 10 | in the future; and be it further
