| 2 | WHEREAS, Sergeant Brian Topczewski has honorably served | ||||||
| 3 | the Chicago Police Department for 20 years; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Sergeant Topczewski has consistently displayed | ||||||
| 5 | professionalism and courage in the line of duty; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Sergeant Topczewski assisted in the emergency | ||||||
| 7 | care of an officer shot during a prior incident in 2016; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, On August 8, 2016 Sergeant Topczewski responded to | ||||||
| 9 | a dispatch that a 10-year-old child, Tavon Turner, had been | ||||||
| 10 | shot; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Sergeant Topczewski possessed extensive medical | ||||||
| 12 | training having served on the special tactical unit Mobile | ||||||
| 13 | Strike Force; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Sergeant Topczewski performed emergency medical | ||||||
| 15 | care on Tavon Turner until the paramedics arrived; therefore, | ||||||
| 16 | be it

| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
