| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to honor and congratulate Illinois | ||||||
| 4 | State Representative Brad Halbrook on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 5 | retirement and thank him for his service and accomplishments in | ||||||
| 6 | the General Assembly and his commitment to the people of the | ||||||
| 7 | 110th District; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook was born on July 22, 1961 | ||||||
| 9 | in Pana; he married his high school sweetheart, Linda, and is | ||||||
| 10 | the father of 2 children; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook is a small business | ||||||
| 12 | owner; he has been involved in agriculture from his youth as a | ||||||
| 13 | participant in the Future Farmers of America to the present day | ||||||
| 14 | as the operator of a diversified farm; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook has served on the board of | ||||||
| 16 | the Illinois Beef Association and is a former Shelby County | ||||||
| 17 | Republican Party chairman; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook was appointed to the | ||||||
| 19 | Illinois House of Representatives in April of 2012, | ||||||
| 20 | representing the people of Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, | ||||||
| 21 | Edgar and Lawrence Counties; in November of 2012, he was | ||||||

| 1 | elected to a full term; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook is a member of the | ||||||
| 3 | Agriculture and Conservation, Appropriations-Higher Education, | ||||||
| 4 | Biotechnology, Counties and Townships, and Environment | ||||||
| 5 | Committees; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook passed legislation which | ||||||
| 7 | was signed into law bringing greater transparency and | ||||||
| 8 | accountability to Emergency Telephone System Boards and | ||||||
| 9 | legislation to create jobs in east-central Illinois through | ||||||
| 10 | adding a locally-produced product to the bow and arrow | ||||||
| 11 | definition of the Wildlife Code; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook has been a tireless | ||||||
| 13 | advocate for the Second Amendment, lower taxes, farmers, | ||||||
| 14 | economic development, reduced government spending, and | ||||||
| 15 | transparency in government; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 17 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we thank and honor our friend and colleague Illinois State | ||||||
| 19 | Representative Brad Halbrook for his public service and wish | ||||||
| 20 | him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
