2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United | ||||||
4 | States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd, formerly of | ||||||
5 | Palatine, who was killed in the line of duty on August 19, | ||||||
6 | 2010, while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, He was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine | ||||||
8 | Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, | ||||||
9 | out of Camp Pendleton, California; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, He was a 2006 graduate of Palatine High School in | ||||||
11 | Palatine, where he played football and lacrosse and wrestled | ||||||
12 | for the high school wrestling team; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, He received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, | ||||||
14 | Humanitarian Service Medal, and the National Defense Service | ||||||
15 | Medal during his time of service; and

16 | WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher | ||||||
17 | J. Boyd is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Boyd; | ||||||
18 | his wife, Danielle; and their twin sons, Jack and Evan; | ||||||
19 | therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

2 | mourn, along with his family, friends, and a grateful nation, | ||||||
3 | the passing of United States Marine Corps Corporal Christopher | ||||||
4 | J. Boyd; and be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Marine | ||||||
6 | Corps Corporal Christopher J. Boyd and his willingness to serve | ||||||
7 | his country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; | ||||||

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
