| 10 | covered by the
news media; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, As a result of these officers performing their | ||||||
| 12 | duties by standing guard, the killer knew exactly where they | ||||||

| 14 | them; and
| ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | United States urban violence; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The circumstances of this incident make it all the | ||||||
| 3 | more essential that Americans respond
as members of a common | ||||||
| 4 | society and country, this response being the best (and possibly | ||||||
| 5 | the only)
way to avoid spiraling downhill into a mental state | ||||||
| 6 | of hatred, fear, and bitterness; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The fallen Dallas Police Department officers are | ||||||
| 8 | Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael Smith, and Patrick | ||||||

| 12 | honor roll of their service by the
police officers and | ||||||
| 13 | civilians of the United States; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 16 | pay solemn tribute to the memories of
the fallen officers of | ||||||
| 17 | Dallas, Texas, and to the traditions of service for which they | ||||||

| 19 | further

| 22 | of American law enforcement; and be it further
| ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
