| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rebecca | ||||||
| 4 | Jane "Becky" Malkovich, who passed away on September 22, 2014; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was born on April 25, 1961 in | ||||||
| 7 | Benton; her parents were Daniel Leon Malkovich and Joe Anne | ||||||
| 8 | (nee Choisser) Malkovich; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich graduated from Benton | ||||||
| 10 | Consolidated High School in 1979; she later earned her | ||||||
| 11 | bachelor's degree in journalism from Southern Illinois | ||||||
| 12 | University in Carbondale; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich worked for the Benton Evening | ||||||
| 14 | News for 9 years, which her family owned until 1986; she later | ||||||
| 15 | joined the staff of The Southern Illinoisan in late 2003, | ||||||
| 16 | working as a reporter on many diverse topics; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich enjoyed spending time with her | ||||||
| 18 | family and friends, music, good writing, coffee, and her pets, | ||||||
| 19 | Captain and Kitty; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich was preceded in death by her | ||||||

| 1 | parents; a sister, Amanda Malkovich; and a brother, Daniel | ||||||
| 2 | Malkovich; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Rebecca Malkovich is survived by 2 sons, Jake | ||||||
| 4 | Ivanovich and Eli Ivanovich; a brother, John (Nicole Peyran) | ||||||
| 5 | Malkovich; a sister, Melissa Malkovich; a sister-in-law, | ||||||
| 6 | Debbie Malkovich; 5 nieces and nephews, Matthew (Brandi) | ||||||
| 7 | Malkovich, Loewy and Amandine Malkovich, Jesse (Anh Dao Pham) | ||||||
| 8 | Starita, and Tim (Kim) Eubanks; a grandnephew, T.J. Eubanks; | ||||||

| 13 | we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 14 | Rebecca Jane "Becky" Malkovich; and be it further

| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the family of Rebecca Malkovich as an expression | ||||||
