| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed colleague, | ||||||
| 4 | State Representative Eddie Winters, for his service as a member | ||||||
| 5 | of the Illinois General Assembly and thank him for his | ||||||
| 6 | dedicated service to the people of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Representative Winters has served as a Chicago | ||||||
| 8 | police officer for more than 18 years, following in the | ||||||
| 9 | footsteps of his correctional officer father; as a police | ||||||
| 10 | officer, Representative Winters proudly protected and served | ||||||
| 11 | the community while working with its many residents; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Representative Winters attended Victor Herbert | ||||||
| 13 | Grammar School and St. Malachy Grammar School; he attended | ||||||
| 14 | Wright Community College before transferring to Roosevelt | ||||||
| 15 | University where he received his bachelor's degree; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Representative Winters helped found a community | ||||||
| 17 | organization called HOW-Homeowners of West-Town to help care | ||||||
| 18 | for the area; he is an involved member of the PTA at Herbert | ||||||
| 19 | Grammar School, an active volunteer at the Salvation Army, and | ||||||
| 20 | a strong advocate for the James Jordan Foundation; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Representative Winters has listened to | ||||||

| 1 | constituents' concerns and fought to improve public safety, | ||||||
| 2 | education, and housing for the people he proudly serves; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Representative Winters has been a vocal leader for | ||||||
| 4 | the 10th District; in his short time in office, he has worked | ||||||
| 5 | diligently to bring attention to the needs of the west side of | ||||||
| 6 | Chicago; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 8 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 9 | we thank State Representative Eddie Winters for his service to | ||||||
| 10 | the people of Illinois and wish him much success in his future | ||||||
| 11 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to State Representative Eddie Winters as an | ||||||
| 14 | expression of our respect and esteem.
