2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jerome F. | ||||||
4 | "JR" McBride, Jr. of Glen Ellyn, who passed away on October 24, | ||||||
5 | 2014; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. graduated from Fenwick High | ||||||
7 | School in Oak Park and from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa in | ||||||
8 | 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. began his professional career | ||||||
10 | with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance; he then joined his | ||||||
11 | father and brother at the McBride Insurance Agency, where he | ||||||
12 | worked for 19 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. represented District 4 on the | ||||||
14 | DuPage County Board since 2006; he advocated fiscal | ||||||
15 | responsibility, open communication, and accountable government | ||||||
16 | that actively solicits the public's views and advice; he served | ||||||
17 | as Chairman of the Board's Legislative Committee and the | ||||||
18 | Emergency Telephone System Board; he also served as precinct | ||||||
19 | committeeman for the Milton Township Republican Central | ||||||
20 | Committee; and

21 | WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. was a member of St. Petronille |

| |||||||
1 | Parish in Glen Ellyn and Immaculate Conception Parish; he was
a | ||||||
2 | volunteer and fundraiser for Misericordia Heart of Mercy in | ||||||
3 | Chicago and a board member of the Metropolitan Family Services | ||||||
4 | of DuPage; in the past, he was a member and committee chair of | ||||||
5 | the Main Street Redevelopment Committee in Forest Park, a | ||||||
6 | member of the Board of Directors for the DuPage Chapter of the | ||||||
7 | American Cancer Society, a member of the Architectural Review | ||||||
8 | Committee in Glen Ellyn, a
member of the Rotary Club of Glen | ||||||
9 | Ellyn, a
member of the Site Committee for Ben Franklin | ||||||
10 | Elementary School in Glen Ellyn, a
board member of the Glenbard | ||||||
11 | West High School Booster Club, a founding member of the Jubilee | ||||||
12 | Board for Outreach Community Ministries in Wheaton, a volunteer | ||||||
13 | for Meals on Wheels in Glen Ellyn, and a volunteer in Glen | ||||||
14 | Ellyn Youth Sports; and

15 | WHEREAS, Jerome McBride, Jr. was the adored and adoring | ||||||
16 | husband of Becky and the proud and beloved father to 5 | ||||||
17 | children, Lauren, Molly, Abigail, Sara, and Marty; therefore, | ||||||
18 | be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
20 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
21 | we mourn the passing of Jerome F. "JR" McBride, Jr., and extend | ||||||
22 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
23 | knew and loved him; and be it further

2 | presented to the family of Jerome McBride, Jr. as an expression | ||||||
