HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Howard
4Johnson of Peoria, who passed away on November 14, 2014; and
5 WHEREAS, Howard Johnson was born on January 12, 1943 in
6Peoria; his parents were Roy and Anna Johnson; he married Betty
7Smith on July 31, 1968 in Peoria; and
8 WHEREAS, Howard Johnson worked for P.J. Hoerr, Inc. for 22
9years until his retirement in 1991; he later became the owner
10and operator of the Jon-Del Construction Company; and
11 WHEREAS, Howard Johnson was a member of Laborers
12International Union of North America Local 165, the Atomic
13Jets, and the Outcast Motorcycle Club; and
14 WHEREAS, Howard Johnson was preceded in death by his
15parents; his wife, Betty; a son, Roy Cockfield; 2 brothers,
16Thomas and Walter Johnson; and 2 sisters, Dora Brown and Carol
17White; and
18 WHEREAS, Howard Johnson is survived by 6 children, Alesia
19Wilkinson, Donald (Karen) Smith, Bruce Cockfield, Linnie
20(Patricia) Cockfield, Parrish (Tanya) Johnson, and Howard

1Johnson, Jr.; 2 brothers, Steven (Monica) Johnson and William
2Johnson; 6 sisters, Frances Johnson, Roberta (Sylvester)
3Gordon, Linda Johnson, Leslie Winters, Sandra Johnson, and
4Linda Stenson; 2 nieces, Denise Sain and Diane Knox; and many
5grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
9Howard Johnson; and be it further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Howard Johnson as an expression of
12our sympathy.
