| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Cary-Grove High | ||||||
| 4 | School football team, the Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois | ||||||
| 5 | High School Association Class 6A State Football Championship; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, In the past ten seasons, from 2009 to 2018, the | ||||||
| 8 | Trojans have played in the Class 6A statewide championship game | ||||||
| 9 | four times; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Playing at the University of Illinois' Memorial | ||||||
| 11 | Stadium, the Trojans defeated Crete-Monee High School for the | ||||||
| 12 | statewide Class 6A championship on November 24, 2018, notching | ||||||
| 13 | a dominating performance with a final score of 35 to 13; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, In a championship-game drive which chewed up much | ||||||
| 15 | of the third quarter and a piece of the fourth quarter, the | ||||||
| 16 | Trojans consumed 11:19 minutes of clock time, covering 90 yards | ||||||
| 17 | in 20 plays to maintain their lead and dishearten their | ||||||
| 18 | opponents; the entire offense joined in the drive, a powerful | ||||||
| 19 | demonstration of team play; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, The Trojans are led by Head Coach Brad Seaburg and | ||||||
| 21 | senior quarterback Ben McDonald; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Trojans have added new hardware to their | ||||||
| 2 | trophy case; the new honor will join the Class 6A championship | ||||||
| 3 | trophy they won in 2009; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 5 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 6 | congratulate the Cary-Grove High School football team, the | ||||||
| 7 | Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois High School Association | ||||||
| 8 | Class 6A State Football Championship; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to Coach Seaburg and the Trojans as a symbol of our | ||||||
