Bill Title: Adds the Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce Commission or his or her designee as a member of the Task Force on Railroad and Bridge Infrastructure created by House Resolution 814 of the 97th General Assembly. Designates the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives or his or her designee (instead of the Illinois Secretary of Transportation) as the chair of the Task Force. Provides that the Illinois Commerce Commission (instead of the Illinois Department of Transportation) shall provide staffing support to the Task Force and shall administer and prepare all reports deemed necessary in conjunction with the Task Force.

| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, During the 97th General Assembly, House | ||||||
| 3 | Resolution 814 created the Task Force on Railroad and Bridge | ||||||
| 4 | Infrastructure to conduct in-depth research to identify the | ||||||
| 5 | railroad tracks and bridges that are in need of repair so that | ||||||
| 6 | the necessary infrastructure repairs can be done, and to report | ||||||
| 7 | its findings to the House of Representatives on or before | ||||||
| 8 | December 31, 2013; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce | ||||||
| 10 | Commission or his or her designee should be included as a | ||||||
| 11 | member of the Task Force because the Illinois Commerce | ||||||
| 12 | Commission, instead of the Illinois Department of | ||||||
| 13 | Transportation, will provide staffing support for the Task | ||||||
| 14 | Force; therefore, be it

| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 16 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | the Executive Director of the Illinois Commerce Commission or | ||||||
| 18 | his or her designee shall serve as a member of the Task Force | ||||||
| 19 | on Railroad and Bridge Infrastructure; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That, instead of the Illinois Secretary of | ||||||
| 21 | Transportation, the Speaker of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 22 | Representatives or his or her designee shall serve as the chair | ||||||
