2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dennis H. | ||||||
4 | Hewitt, who passed away on November 12, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was born in Elgin to Gerald and Lola | ||||||
6 | (Prowse) Hewitt on May 14, 1949; he married Mary Watermann on | ||||||
7 | January 22, 1970; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was the Executive Director of PADS | ||||||
9 | of Elgin for 13 years; his commitment to service transformed | ||||||
10 | PADS of Elgin from a seasonal program to a permanent shelter; | ||||||
11 | he retired in 2016; previously, he worked at Biggers Chevrolet | ||||||
12 | for 27 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was a 25-year volunteer leader with | ||||||
14 | Little League Baseball; his dedication to Little League ensured | ||||||
15 | every child got to play; he was an active church member and | ||||||
16 | leader, a Food Pantry volunteer, and a Gold Wing rider; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
18 | Gerald Hewitt, and his grandson, Wyatt Hewitt; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Dennis Hewitt is survived by his wife, Mary | ||||||
20 | Hewitt; his son, Rev. Dr. Kristopher (Carrie) Hewitt; his |

1 | grandson, Aidan Hewitt; his mother, Lola Hewitt; his sisters, | ||||||
2 | Kathy Oswalt, Candy (Gil) Doty, and Heather (Ted) Weaver; his | ||||||
3 | brothers, Dean (Co), Gary (Pat), Michael (Cathy), and Kevin | ||||||
4 | (Sue) Hewitt; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends; | ||||||
5 | therefore, be it

7 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
8 | mourn the passing of Dennis H. Hewitt and extend our sincere | ||||||
9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
