HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William
4H. Windler of Irvington, who passed away on May 16, 2016; and
5 WHEREAS, William Windler was born in New Minden to William
6F. and Emilie Hanke Windler on December 29, 1940; and
7 WHEREAS, William Windler worked as a farmer; he was also
8owner of Windler Auction Service and worked at Lampe
9Construction; and
10 WHEREAS, William Windler served as the Washington County
11Treasurer for 24 years, as Police Chief in Irvington, and on
12the Washington County Fair Board and the Irvington School
13Board; and
14 WHEREAS, William Windler was a member of St. John Lutheran
15Church, the Irvington Ruritan Club, and the Washington County
16Extension Foundation; he was active in the Men's Club and the
17Historical Society; he sang in the choir and was a 4H leader
18for many years; and
19 WHEREAS, William Windler dedicated his life to his faith,
20family, and community; and

1 WHEREAS, William Windler was preceded in death by his wife
2of 56 years, Janet M. (Lampe); and
3 WHEREAS, William Windler is survived by his daughters,
4Karen (Michael) Berry, Christine (Scott) Bevil, and Beth (Sean)
5Ballatini; his 6 grandchildren; his brother, Dennis (Trudy)
6Windler; his sister, Marilyn (Glen) Edwards; and his
7brother-in-law, Patrick (Anita) Lampe; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10mourn the passing of William H. Windler, and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of William Windler as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
